Food Banks & Food Pantries
Fighting food insecurity across Greater Pollok, Govan, and beyond — with dignity, inclusion, and compassion at the heart of everything we do.
Tackling Food Insecurity Together
The ongoing cost-of-living crisis has pushed more families in our community to the brink. At CCG, we believe that no one should go hungry — and our network of food services ensures that individuals and families always have somewhere to turn for nutritious, dignified support.
From emergency food parcels to affordable weekly groceries, our services are open, inclusive, and free of stigma — accessible to everyone who needs them.

Emergency Food Parcels
Our Foodbank provides vital emergency support to individuals and families — including older people and those with disabilities — experiencing hardship. Food parcels are distributed through referrals from a wide network of trusted partners, as well as through self-referrals from individuals who come directly to our office for help.
Our referral partners include community services, Islamic Relief UK, Turning Point Scotland, housing associations, MPs, councillors, the NHS, and social workers — ensuring that those most in need are connected to us quickly.
Through our Foodbank on Wheels initiative, we deliver food parcels directly to people who are unable to attend in person — including elderly residents and those with mobility challenges — ensuring our support truly reaches everyone.
On average, we support 150–180 beneficiaries through our foodbank every week.
Affordable Groceries, Open to All
Our Community Pantry is open Monday to Friday and provides low-cost groceries to individuals and families, helping to ease the pressure of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
For just £2.50, you can choose 10 items — with additional items available for just 25p each.
Weekly deliveries from FareShare and support from our funders ensure a good mix of fresh fruit, vegetables, protein, and dry goods. Grant funding allows us to stock bulk essentials like rice, pasta, and tinned meals throughout the year.
Unlike traditional foodbanks or restricted membership models, our pantry operates with no fees and no usage limits — preserving dignity, accessibility, and choice for all. On average, the pantry supports over 200 beneficiaries every week.
Every Wednesday — FareShare Day
Our FareShare Programme runs every Wednesday, providing low-cost groceries to individuals and families. Like the pantry, participants can select 10 items for £2.50, with additional items at 25p each.
The programme operates with no fees and no usage limits — ensuring dignity, accessibility, and genuine choice for all who attend. On average, around 120 beneficiaries are supported each week through this initiative.
Our dedicated volunteers are at the heart of the programme's success, gaining valuable experience in stock management, customer service, and health and safety — providing a practical pathway into further training or employment.
Free Nutritious Meals for Children
CCG runs the Lunch Munch Club, providing nutritious meals to 170 children across three hubs during the Spring, Summer, and Autumn school breaks.
Each day, children enjoy freshly cooked meals, fruit, juice, and ice lollies, alongside engaging activities such as drawing and arts and crafts. Every child also receives a breakfast bag to take home.
The club welcomes children from diverse backgrounds and with varying dietary needs, offering a welcoming space to make new friends and build social connections.
In partnership with Cash4Kids, CCG organises special outings — including cinema trips and group parties — recognising that these experiences are often out of reach for families under financial pressure.
Our Food Drive Initiative
Through the generosity of funders and partner organisations, our Food Drive has distributed over 1,000 food parcels to individuals and families facing hardship this year. These donations have strengthened our foodbank, pantry, and meal programmes — allowing us to respond quickly to rising demand and unexpected emergencies.
This community-led effort has not only provided vital nutrition but also strengthened bonds of solidarity and compassion across our neighbourhoods. We warmly thank everyone who has contributed.
